Scripture is just as essential today as it was millennia ago. But it is your job – the teacher, elder, preacher, blogger, etc. – to teach it in a relevant, practical way. And in our iPhone-packed, social media campaign-filled, 3-second attention span-crippled world, making our message visually appealing is no longer a mere luxury. With truth on your side, why not go the extra step by making your message really ‘pop’?

Say goodbye to Microsoft clipart. Say hello to some of my favorite resources that have helped me as I assemble PowerPoint presentations, design advertisements and church promo material, build websites, and write blog posts:

I probably shouldn’t have given away some of my secrets. But since I did, it’s only fair you do the same. What are some of your favorite resources?

Ben Giselbach is the pulpit minister at the Edgewood church of Christ in Columbus, GA. He and his wife Hannah have two children, Ezra & Colleyanna. Ben is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and has returned to pursue his MDiv. He has written three books in his You Are A Theologian Series: Thinking Right about the Bible, Thinking Right about God, and Thinking Right about Salvation.
  1. Shane Robinson

I cannot recommend the "non-designers" series by Robin Williams enough. It is a must read for everyone who puts graphic design on the screen or printed page. You will never look at church bulletins, or promotional flyers the same after you read her book(s). The best $20 you'll ever spend....

  2. John Furness,, are all great.
